When Meghan Markle returned to Britain to rejoin Prince Harry for their "farewell tour"—their final U.K. trip as senior members of the royal family—she really pulled out all the stops. And there was definitely something very different about her—the departing duchess has never looked better, leaving many to wonder: Is Meghan Markle pregnant again?
"Meghan is definitely the happiest she's ever been," a Palace insider confided. "She is so excited about officially beginning the next chapter of her life with Harry and Archie. She believes there are no limits to what they can do as a couple." But does one of those things include bringing a second child into the world in about nine months?
"Meghan and Harry definitely want Archie to have a sibling," said my source, noting now could be the time. "The pressure is off and they are planning on spending the next few months nesting while they mull all the opportunities that have already come their way."
For further proof, here are three reasons why Meghan may be pregnant again:
1 Her clothing drops a big hint.
On their farewell tour, when Harry and Meghan attended the Mountbatten Music Festival, Meghan chose a dramatic red Safiyaa cape dress that matched Harry's fiery Captain General of the Royal Marines uniform. She wore the same dress in blue while visiting Fiji during a royal tour in 2018 when—wait for it—she was pregnant. Is Meghan trying to tell us something?
Then, for her final appearance with the rest of the royals at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, Meghan chose a covered-up—and loose fitting—emerald green cape dress by Emilia Wickstead that looked as if it was designed to make room for a baby bump. Its voluminous style was reminiscent of the navy Givenchy coat the duchess chose for Princess Eugenie's wedding (seen here)—where, incidentally, she and Harry announced that Archie was on the way.
2 She's glowing.
The instantly iconic photo by veteran royal photographer Samir Hussein of Meghan and Harry smiling at each other under an umbrella in the rain at the Endeavour Fund Awards says it all. Gone is the sad-eyed Meghan who looked miserable in the ITV documentary where she told interviewer Tom Bradby it wasn't enough "to survive, you've got to thrive and feel happy." These days, Meghan is seemingly blossoming with happiness.
Her long-time friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin enhanced the newly delighted duchess's visage and gave her a bolder lip color and smokier eye for her official engagements on the trip. Her dramatic new look showed off her dewy skin—and everyone noticed. "She's definitely got that pregnancy glow," said the insider.
3 Meghan is worried about increased health risks.
When Harry interviewed ethologist Jane Goodall for the Sept. 2019 issue of British Vogue (guest edited by Meghan), the prince told the famed ethologist that he and Meghan wanted "two children, maximum." (At the time, his comment was thought to be a criticism of Prince William and Kate Middleton's decision to have three kids.) Harry has also been reported to have asked young parents he's met at various appearances about what it's like having two young kids.
And with some R&R upcoming in North America, "now would be the perfect time for [Meghan] to be pregnant," my source said. "She could rest, do yoga, and really take care of herself."
However, Meghan, 38, would technically have a "geriatric pregnancy" that puts her at a high risk for complications. Even a woman as fit and health-conscious as the duchess couldn't count on having an easy delivery the first time around. Meghan's plans for a home birth for Archie in 2019 were scuttled late in her pregnancy and she delivered her first child at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster, England.
