The World's Longest Zip Line Is More Epic Than You Ever Imagined—Video

World's longest zipline opens in UAE.

Along with sky diving and paragliding, zip-lining is one of the most thrilling and exciting experiences you can possibly have. And the higher and longer the line, the more of an adrenaline pumping adventure it is.

Now, the world's longest zip line has opened for business in the United Arab Emirates. The line, which was deemed the longest in the world by the Guinness World Records this week ahead of its grand opening, is a jaw-dropping 1.7 miles long (the equivalent of 28 soccer fields). Not only that, but it starts at the top of the Jebel Jais mountain, 5,511 feet above sea level, and catapults you down at a speed up to 93 miles per hour. It's certain to be the most exciting 3 minutes of your life.

People in the region hope that it will bring in additional tourism to Ras Al Khaimah, located in the country's north along the Oman border, which was previously less of a draw than the glitz and glamor of Dubai or the infamously luxurious palm islands off its coast.

There are no age restrictions, though you must weigh between 100 and 300 pounds and be at least 4 feet tall to ride. At $176, the ride doesn't come cheap, and it takes a fair amount of courage to step off the platform, but it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
