When it comes to her acting projects, Sarah Jessica Parker has one hard boundary that's baked into her contract. Despite her most famous role being that of a sex columnist, the star has never been interested in portraying certain types of sex scenes onscreen. And she's spoken out about the troubling on-set situations that led her to draw the line. To find out what type of sex scene Sarah Jessica Parker will never do, read on. The actor spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about this stipulation, which applies to sexual and non-sexual onscreen nudity, in a 2016 interview.

"I've always had one, and it's apropos of absolutely nothing," Parker said of her no-nudity clause. "Some people have a perks list, and they are legendary. They have white candles in their room. I don't have a crazy list like that. I've just always had a [a no-nudity clause]."

Parker has said that she's had to push back regarding nudity in the past.

While Parker told THR that her stance against onscreen nudity isn't a direct response to anything in particular, she has also spoken out about a situation in which she felt forced into stripping down. In a 2018 interview with People, Parker said that on the set of a movie early in her career, the filmmakers assumed she would take her clothes off for a scene.

"They were like, 'Sarah Jessica's going to be nude tomorrow,' and I was like, 'I'm not going to be nude,'" the Sex and the City star said, not naming the director or the film. "I don't know if I had confidence or if I was being counseled by people. There was so much pressure for me to take my clothes off."

Parker also recalled running into someone who was on that same set with her, who told the actor, "I remember you sobbing" over the coercion.

She continued to refuse, and her agent got involved.

Parker told the magazine that she eventually called her agent, Kevin Huvane, for help. He encouraged her to stand her ground and leave if her wishes weren't respected.

"My agent sent a car and plane ticket [to the film set] and he said, 'If anybody makes you do anything that you're not comfortable with doing, you don't,'" she said. "Given what's happening now and the stories told from the particular period, I know how lucky I am that there was someone—in this case, a man—who stepped in."

But she doesn't judge any actor who does do nude scenes.

Parker told THR that, even though nudity isn't her thing, she has nothing against any performer who's fine with it.

"I don't have any judgment about anyone who chooses to do it," Parker said. "I think it's fantastic that people feel comfortable doing it. It's not some kind of principled position or religious or ideological on my part."
