What made you start 1Rod1ReelFishing?
I started 1Rod1ReelFishing to share my passion for fishing with others and to inspire others to take up the hobby. I also wanted to showcase the beauty of nature and the outdoors, and to have fun in the process.
What's your favorite fish to catch?
That's a tough question, as there are so many amazing fish out there! But if I had to choose, I would say bass. They're challenging but rewarding to catch, and they offer a great fight.
What's your secret to catching big fish?
There's no secret, really. It's all about knowing the right techniques and equipment for the type of fish you're targeting, and putting in the time and effort to find them. And of course, a bit of luck doesn't hurt!
What's your favorite fishing memory?
There are so many great memories to choose from! But one that stands out is when I caught a 13-pound largemouth bass in a small pond. It was an amazing feeling to catch such a big fish in a relatively small body of water, and it remains one of my proudest catches to this day.
What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?
The biggest fish I've caught was a 158-pound tarpon in Florida. It was an incredible feeling to hook something so large and powerful, and it took me over an hour to reel it in!
What advice do you have for beginner anglers?
My advice for beginner anglers is to start small and focus on learning the basics first. Choose a simple setup and practice your casting technique in a safe and open area, such as a park or a backyard. Once you feel comfortable with the basics, start exploring different types of fishing and gradually build your skills and knowledge from there.
Do you have any upcoming fishing trips planned?
Yes, I have a few exciting trips planned in the coming months! I'll be visiting some new locations, as well as revisiting some of my favorite spots. I can't wait to share the footage with all of you!
What's your favorite piece of fishing equipment?
My favorite piece of equipment is probably my Lew's reels. They're smooth, reliable, and very comfortable to use, and they've served me well on many fishing trips.
